My Experience
OPENING MY PRACTICE
I received a Master's of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Bridgewater State College in 2006 and began practicing as a therapist in Lowell, MA at a community mental health center. It was there that I began truly learning the process of connecting with people who are different than me. I work to establish a therapeutic relationship with each person by actively listening and supporting people where they are at and I helped empower them to be active in their treatment and their goal setting.
Like most people my life has been turned upside down due to COVID-19 and the pandemic. As an outpatient therapist I had to relearn how to provide authentic empathetic counseling through Telehealth. It was overwhelming not meeting with the people I had established therapeutic relationships. I was skeptical but soon realized that I can continue to connect and develop new relationships with new individuals and families. Having worked by myself from home, I came to the conclusion that I can work alone in my own practice, something that I had been wanting but also wary of not working with colleagues or an office staff. After months anxiously making pros and cons lists and consulting with family, friends, and colleagues, I took the plunge and opened my doors November 2021.
